The Palm Leaf Print May Be 2017’s SUPER TREND of the YEAR!

More FREE home styling tips from MKW Design! Here’s another super trend for 2017…the palm leaf print. This gorgeous graphic has inspired many designers and home stylists since it’s debut as wallpaper at the iconic Beverly Hills Hotel! This year you will see it EVERYWHERE! From bikinis to shirts and skirts to…you guessed it…home decor! Here are some non-committal ways to work it in your home design as we welcome spring and summer.

1. Throw pillows – toss one of these pretty printed accent pillows onto your couch, chair, or bed for an instant update. (Pillows can be found at Etsy, EBay, Williams Sonoma, and Home Goods).

2. Bring the outside in by clipping Palm or Palmetto plants and tossing them in a vase filled with water. This looks great as table or island centerpieces, placed on sideboards, or tucked on bookshelves or bedside tables. (Plants are readily available here in Florida OR you can purchase fake ones from Pottery Barn or Michael’s).

3. Create an accent wall with the original Martinique wallpaper! This can be purchased online at many reputable dealers. Just Google search the name. This one requires a bit more commitment, but the results will be breathtaking!

One of my favorite trends for 2017!

It’s been a very busy first quarter @ Melissa K. Wright Design! From styling A LuLaRoe Showroom, to designing a surprise man cave, to helping select finishes and furniture for clients about to move into their dream homes! I will have lots of before and after photos to share when we these projects are fully completed! Until then, I will be frequently leaving posts right here where you can see my favorite home styling trends for 2017. Up first…mixing metals, baby! Matchy-matchy is definitely a styling no-no. Mix your favorite metals to create a cool vibe (think gold, silver, rose gold, copper, and bronze). This is a fast and fresh way to update your home. Please note – the image you see is a style trend I am following. This is not my work, but reflects an aesthetic I am obsessing over and using in my projects as you read.  Need styling help or have questions about this or other trends?
